Terms of service

What we provide

A hosted service that links company-owned WhatsApp numbers you nominate, archives the conversations on them, and provides search, reporting and export over that archive. How long the archive is kept is set by you, and defaults to 12 months.

The service observes and does not operate: there is no facility to send a WhatsApp message, and we will not add one.

Your obligations

• You link only numbers your organisation owns and controls.
• You give the people using those numbers written notice of the monitoring, and you keep it current.
• You comply with the employment and data-protection law that applies to you. We give you templates; we are not your lawyers.
• You control who in your organisation has access, and you review it.

Prohibited use

You may not use WAOversight to:

• monitor a number that is not owned and controlled by your organisation;
• monitor anybody who has not been given notice of it;
• intercept communications you have no lawful basis to hold;
• attempt to circumvent the access log, or to obtain an archive belonging to another customer.

We will suspend an account where we have reasonable grounds to believe one of these is happening, and we will tell you why.

Availability

We publish uptime and capture lag monthly on the reliability page, including incidents. A WhatsApp companion-device link can be ended by WhatsApp or by a handset change; we alert you and you re-link. The archive is independent of the live session, and messages already captured are unaffected by an outage.

We do not warrant that a linked number will never be restricted by WhatsApp. That risk is described in full on the reliability page.

Ending the agreement

Either side may end it with notice; there is no minimum term. On termination your archive stays exportable for 30 days and is then deleted. We will tell you the deletion date in writing when you cancel.

A legal hold placed before termination survives it for as long as the hold is in force. Legal holds are part of the Growth band.
