WHERE THE PRODUCTS DIFFER

The rows that decide this comparison.

Their column is drawn from their own product page, blog and pricing page.

WAOversight and TeamInspector compared on retention, sending, the access log and pricing. The access log row is inferred from absence, since no such feature appears on their pages.

What TeamInspector does better

Genuinely: price at small scale, and speed to first value. At roughly $5–7 per user per month on the archived pricing, a small team pays less than our $49–$199 bands, and their 7-day trial gets you reading messages quickly. They are an established vendor, with a 25-year company claim, large Indian enterprise logos and 24/7 support, and if you also want bulk messaging and CRM sending in the same tool, they ship it and we never will.

The caveats are in their own material: a 10-agent minimum on the Business plan, INR-first pricing with a +91 phone number for sales, and a live pricing page that no longer shows a price at all.

Month seven

Their product page states paid retention of 6 months. Ours is set by you, with a 12-month default and a 3-year audit trail, and a 30-day export window on cancellation in writing. If a dispute surfaces eight months after the conversation, and the expensive ones usually do, that difference is the product.

"Deleted message recovery" also means different things. They recover deleted chats; we preserve the original text with both the sent and the deleted timestamps in an append-only, hash-chained archive you can verify yourself. For a dispute, "we have a copy" and "we have evidence" are different answers. See how the capture works and what a preserved deletion looks like.

The fairness posture

Their blog tells customers that employees must be informed about monitoring. Our product keeps the receipt: every manager view is written to an access log that nobody can edit and nobody can switch off, and that log is kept for 3 years. In a US employment context, the tool that can prove notice was real is the defensible one. We could not find any statement about an access log anywhere on their pages, which is an inference from absence, so put the question to them directly.

Three questions to put to any vendor

  • What exactly happens to our archive in month seven, and what does export cost?
  • Is every manager view recorded, who can read that record, and can the recording be switched off?
  • What was your uptime last month, and where is it published? Ours is on the reliability page, monthly, per number.

If you are already using something else

Switching means re-linking each number once, about a minute each, and losing nothing you already have, because your existing tool's archive stays with them. What we cannot do is import their archive: capture here starts at linking. If the history matters, run both for the length of your old contract rather than switching cleanly. We would rather say that than have you discover it afterwards.

When we would tell you not to buy

  • Your reps use personal numbers and are not going to move. We only link company-owned numbers.
  • You want bulk messaging or outbound campaigns from the same tool. They ship that; we do not, and the WhatsApp API inboxes do it properly.
  • You have fewer than 3 reps. The manual version, asking and looking at phones, is genuinely cheaper. Our pricing is built for 5 numbers and up.

TEAMINSPECTOR QUESTIONS

What buyers ask about this comparison

How much does TeamInspector cost?

Their live pricing page shows no numbers; it asks you to contact them. The December 2025 archived version listed ₹600 per agent per month (about $7) with a 10-agent minimum on the Business plan, and third-party marketplace listings quote about $5 per user.

Does TeamInspector keep deleted messages?

Their product page says you can retrieve and review deleted conversations. What it does not say is how long: paid retention is 6 months. WAOversight keeps the original text with both the sent and deleted timestamps, in an append-only archive, for as long as you decide.

Does TeamInspector record it when a manager reads a rep's chats?

We could not find any such feature on their pages, so treat that as unverified and ask them directly. Their own blog says businesses are required to inform employees about monitoring. In WAOversight every manager view is written to an access log that nobody can edit and nobody can switch off, and your workspace owner and your auditors read it.
